Who’s who at Studio Creatch
Jordan Brownlee
Co-founder

Jordan Brownlee (he/him/his) is a puppeteer, actor, writer, director and producer from San Diego, CA. From an early age, Jordan knew he wanted to make people laugh, and his affinity for puppetry and animation drove his desire to work in entertainment.
From age eight, Jordan started building puppets and studying how to perform with them. He was mainly inspired by the work of Jim Henson, and dreamt of working with The Muppets someday. Throughout high school, Jordan was known for doing impressions in the annual talent show and placing 2nd or 1st place every year. Jordan went on to join his high school improv team and post YouTube videos every Friday, honing his skills for comedic timing and video production.
In 2018, Jordan was one of 400 applicants chosen to participate in a puppeteer workshop led by the puppeteers of Sesame Street. Jordan received firsthand training in monitor-work, eye-focus and improv with the puppeteers he’d admired since he was a kid. In 2021, Jordan was one of the 1200 applicants selected for a three-week puppeteer workshop with The Jim Henson Company that culminated in an improv showcase. Jordan has gone on to work with The Jim Henson Company on Coldplay’s “Biutyful” music video, Apple TV’s Slumberkins and Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock. Jordan has also worked with The Muppets on their “Mr. Blue Sky” music video, Disney +’s The Muppets Mayhem and The Muppet Show (2026). In 2021, Jordan made his Off-Broadway debut in Jim Henson’s Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas as Doc Bullfrog/Chuck Stoat/Tiny Squirrel. Jordan reprised those roles at the Studebaker Theatre in Chicago in 2023 and OFC Creations in Rochester in 2025, the latter of which Jordan also served as puppet director and puppet captain. Other theatre credits include Little Shop of Horrors as Audrey II (Puppeteer) and How The Grinch Stole Christmas as Old Max, the prior of which Jordan was nominated for a BroadwayWorld Orlando Award for Best Supporting Performer in a Musical.
Jordan earned a BA in Cinema and Digital Media from The University of California, Davis. While there, he met J.R. and subsequently became a frequent collaborator and eventual company member of Bike City Theatre Company. During his time with Bike City, Jordan toured in an award-winning bike safety musical, wrote for several radio plays and stage productions, built puppets, trained puppeteers and led many of the creative decisions for a series of animated educational shorts produced with the California Department of Public Health. Jordan is excited to have co-founded Studio Creatch with J.R. and can’t wait to keep creating content that educates and inspires much like the shows and videos that inspired him to become the artist he is today. When he’s not working, he likes to bake focaccia bread and wander around Costco.

In tandem, J.R. earned his MFA at The University of California, Davis, forging a specialized degree focused on new works development. J.R. is proud to be working alongside Jordan in their mission to create impactful animation, puppetry, and live performing arts.
Outside of Studio Creatch, J.R. is an adjunct lecturer in playwriting at Central Washington University. When not immersed in artistic endeavours, J.R. can be found suffering through the performance of his local NBA basketball team. His journey as a lifelong Sacramento Kings fan has taught him to stay positive, and to find the humor and love, even when times are tough.
